Lower Highland or as locals call it, LoHi, is located just west of Downtown Denver and is generally identified by Zuni St along it’s western border with the Union Pacific Railroad / I-25 making up the east border. Then, it has W. 38th avenue to the north and W. 29th to the south. You have Sunnyside just north, Highland to the west and Jefferson Park to the south.
The North Denver area has a history dating all the way back to the Arapahoe Native Americans. However, we can reflect on the great flood of 1864. Though, it can be viewed as the catalyst for original development of LoHi because folks living in Denver were forced to seek higher ground and made Denver Highland home.
